The food was amazing! I had the fried whiting and Macaroni and cheese. Usually restaurant soul food is salty but this tasted homemade and delicious! The red velvet and coconut cake were a bit dry but the food was amazing.
Food was excellent. It wasn’t overly seasoned. Very balanced and traditional soul food taste and texture. Will definitely return.
Friendly staff and great home cooked southern soul food.
The food came out hot and quick but many items had little to no seasoning, ie fried chicken
We took our kids to Charlotte for Spring Break 2019 to see the Hornets abs take in some local history and attractions. We stayed near the arena, and Mert’s was within walking distance. The restaurant is staffed by friendly servers, and the menu is extensive and kid-friendly.
