<div>About<br><br>Michael Chestnut always had a dream “to have a place where people could come and enjoy a good meal like it was made at mama’s house.”<br><br></div><div>“Big Mike” is a business man and community servant who wears many hats. He is a husband, father, restaurateur, city councilman, real estate agent, and church deacon.<br><br></div><div>Inspired at an early age by his mother’s ability to work magic in kitchen, she was able to produce delicious, filling meals seemingly from nothing. Mike’s restaurant experience began at 12 years old, working at local establishments in Myrtle Beach. The chefs noticed that he displayed a keen interest in helping them plan and prepare meals. With a fascination for learning more and natural talent in the kitchen, he was mentored by skilled chefs, which allowed him to develop an appreciation for the craft.<br><br></div>

We were visiting myrtle beach and went to the okra app Big Mike’s specials were so good Service good We had the fried fish and fried chicken with candied yams greens field peas Mac and cheese all good just like mama used to make
Big Mike delivered on speed, taste and overall good service. I had Big Mike Special with fried pork chop, Mac n cheese, collard greens, cornbread and candied yams. Washed it down with some sweet tea. Wife had Little Mike with fried chicken wings, cabbage greens , fried okra, cornbread and a soda. She is picky and enjoyed her meal more than anywhere we’ve been in the area at that point. Thumbs up! Went around 4:30p or 5p.
A good dining experience is part of traveling for me. Local flavor is one way of getting to know the place I’m visiting . BIG Mike’s is a must for soul food. I will definitely be back.
